After the long and car-heavy day yesterday, we decided to stay home and relax. We booked an hour of tennis on a much nicer court than the last one. We all had a great time, but we were also quite warm by the time the hour was up, so we had packed our swimsuits and headed straight to the pool afterwards. Kenneth cheated a bit and shaved all his hair off so he could avoid wearing the sexy yellow swim cap.
We had lunch back in the shade, and in the afternoon, we wanted to go to the sea as the water had looked calm in the morning. However, when we got there around 4 o'clock, that was not the case anymore. Huge waves had come in, and you could still see where the coastline had been in the morning, as people's belongings were tied to umbrellas that were now in the water or, at the very least, regularly got splashed by a wave. Some people also got very busy moving their towels when the waves came in, but they were sunbathing again as soon as they got their feet wet! We decided to skip swimming in the sea but played with sand on the beach and watched the impressive waves and the few brave souls who still went in for a swim despite the red flags.
The sand is black lava sand, so we were completely covered in it and had to find a shower before we could take our final dip in the pool for the day. The wind picked up more and more, and the awning was flapping quite a bit when we got back, so we packed it down and had dinner under the open sky in a gentle breeze! As evening entertainment, the kids set up a "cinema" with real tickets, mini sweets, and all their stuffed animals lined up in rows :-) The internet is a bit tricky here, but we managed to watch a couple of episodes with the bear and the lemmings, so everyone was happy.
