(English version below)

We had already packed most of our stuff, but it still takes a moment to empty various containers, take down the air conditioning (big thanks to a colleague for the recommendation and the opportunity to buy it second-hand), and make sure all cabinets and compartments are securely closed. The kids hopped into the car in their underwear and wrapped in blankets (despite the heat) and continued snoozing until we were completely ready to hit the road. We had a little adventure when we had to ask a guy with very narrow eyes to move his car, as his vehicle, along with another car, had made the road too narrow to pass through. Finally, we rounded off our preparations by making a quick stop at the small café on the 'square' for the first and only time, as they provided coffee, water, and a croissant for the journey.
Our journey south went smoothly, with just a bit of traffic around Rome due to a car accident, but other than that, no worries. The road quality isn't the best, and there are quite a few big potholes and bumps to watch out for. We arrived around 3:30 PM, and it took a bit of time to check-in, but we managed it. They asked us if we preferred a sunny or shady spot, and we opted for the shade. A guy on a bike zigzagged through a bunch of tall trees and other campers until he found us a vacant spot. It was scorching hot, so we decided not to unpack everything until evening. Instead, we got our swimwear on and headed straight for the pool. But guess what? We had to make a little ice cream and water pitstop because we needed to buy swimming caps to be allowed in the pool! (Sadly, we have no pictures of this sight, so you'll have to take our word for it!)
After the refreshing pool time, we found the supermarket, did our shopping, and returned to set up camp. The kids are getting good at it, and they're actually quite helpful in getting the awning and other stuff set up. Sara, in particular, struggled a bit with the heat, but everyone was happy when we got the air conditioning up and running again, bringing down the temperature before bedtime. We definitely need plenty of fluids, sugar, and salt tomorrow to keep us going!
