Tomorrow morning, we'll be heading towards Italy, so the plan was to have everything packed and ready during the day, allowing us to hit the road early the next morning (there are restrictions on driving within the campsite between 22:00-07:30 and 12:30-14:00). However, it was still raining. We wanted to pass a couple of hours in the middle of the day without driving too far. We set out towards a ruin that we couldn't find, so we decided to have lunch at an old monastery that had been turned into a wellness retreat in the mountains. There were incredibly many people there, but it turned out to be a really disappointing experience! The food and service were below par, and there were so many flies and ants on the table that we had rarely seen anything like it. But they insisted on keeping up appearances, so the waitstaff put on white gloves when setting the table!
After the somewhat negative experience, we made a stop at Montiola Waterfall, which we had passed on the way out. It was a very steep climb up the stairs, but the hidden natural beauty of the waterfall was breathtaking. Definitely worth a visit.
Back at the campsite, the awning had dried up, and we were able to pack everything without any issues. Our lovely stay in the Austrian region concluded with a farewell concert by the owner himself on an Alpine horn! Thankfully, it wasn't the longest concert, but it was fun and impressive to hear.
