Golf in Italy & Villach - Day 73

(English version below)

Kenneth's turn to decide the day's destination had come, and his wish was initially a full round of golf (perhaps not surprising...). He had found a golf course in Italy (about an hour's drive away) and set off in the early morning. It might not have been the best course, but he still enjoyed the trip.

The rest of us had done our homework before packing paddleboards and beach gear and heading down to the lake. The sun was shining brightly, but the temperature was only around 24 degrees, and the water was significantly colder than what we're used to, so the desire for swimming wasn't quite the same as before. On the other hand, the water was calm, so we went paddleboarding to a raft in the middle of the lake. They've become quite skilled at paddling and steering (not to mention maintaining balance so that we don't all fall into the water), so they took turns controlling the pace, and I (Sara) acted as the "motor" when their energy was running out. It's another beautiful spot we've found, so when the weather is good, it quickly fills a few hours of just playing by the water. Kenneth returned for a refreshing dip after the "match," and then we all showered to drive to Villach and explore the city.

Monday seemed a bit quiet with many shops closed (and others were closing as it was late afternoon before we got there), but we still got a good impression of the city. There was a small pedestrian street with several restaurants and cafes, as well as various street musicians adding some life. We noticed that there were a lot of motorcycles in the area, and in Villach, we found out that it was "Biker Week," so that probably explains a lot ;-) We had a burger on the pedestrian street at an Austrian burger chain while soaking in the atmosphere and catching a glimpse of the sun setting on the mountains surrounding the city.
