Headed for Pula to meet friends

(English version below)

It was time for an early departure as soon as we could leave the campsite at 7 AM. We got the last things packed, made sandwiches, and wrestled the kids into the car. However, it was a setback that we couldn't get the mover to work with the newly purchased battery! But with sheer manpower (and the help of a passing stranger), we managed to push it forward and attach it to the back of the car, so we could get going. Grandma and Grandpa had gotten up early and came out to wave goodbye :) They had a planned stop in the town of Sibenik on their way to Split Airport, and then the journey back to Denmark began.

We got on the road smoothly, and thankfully on Sunday morning, we avoided the traffic jam we had experienced a couple of days earlier when we were heading to Plitvice National Park. This meant we mostly drove on good toll motorways all the way to Pula, with just a single stop for restroom breaks, refueling, and a cup of coffee. We arrived around 2 PM, and the check-in process was straightforward. However, the campsite was almost fully booked, so we couldn't get a spot close to Caroline and Frank. It's a bit of a shame since they have two younger children than ours, but we'll figure it out. We announced our arrival and agreed to meet at "their" pool at 3 PM (there are three pool areas on the campsite, as well as a long stretch of rocky beach with calm waters). The reunion was joyous, and there was splashing around and chatting for hours.

For dinner, we had an early meal at one of the campsite's restaurants with a view of the water and the sunset. It was a delightful meal and a conclusion to a day that had involved some practical challenges, but the kids seemed to have forgotten it all already! Everyone was tired, and we went to bed early.
