It was a day full of plans as we had booked a full-day boat trip to see the Kornati National Park. It's a protected cluster of islands (a bit archipelago-like) off the coast where we were staying. We were supposed to set sail from Murter at 9 AM, so we were up early and had breakfast individually. We met by the cars at a quarter past eight and followed each other for the nearly 5 kilometers to the port. We found parking and the boat we were taking, but even though we were there in good time, we got some of the last available tables (indoors in front of the kitchen). Not the best spot, but they opened up at the back, so people could also get outside on the lower deck and enjoy the fresh air (much needed, especially as they were grilling fish for lunch).
We had a wonderful day with incredibly calm seas and beautiful nature. Some found it a bit monotonous, but nevertheless, it was stunning. We had a break on the island of Mana, where there were so many fish and sea urchins. The fish went wild if they got a bit of bread - a sight to behold when snorkeling underwater. After that, a warm lunch was served for everyone as we sailed towards the next stop, Levrnaka. Here, the older folks took a break in the shade, while the rest of us crossed the island (a very short distance) and had another swim in the clear water. Beautiful, but a bit like flypaper when a big boat arrives at a small beach...
Afterward, the trip headed back to Murter, with hopes of seeing dolphins (especially as we passed some fish farms), but no luck. We played Rummikub to our heart's content, which helped pass the time on the boat. Once back in the harbor, we explored a bit and chose a cozy place for dinner with a fantastic view of the water. What a lovely day!
Knus😘🥂
