Everyone was tired after the long trip to Pisa yesterday, so we all slept a bit longer than usual. We needed a small spare part for the caravan, so Kenneth went on a long morning drive to find the missing piece. Fingers crossed that it works!
We spent a couple of hours swimming in the pool during midday, where, for the first time, we had to "fight" for a couple of sun loungers next to each other. But it was quite windy, so I guess others also thought the sea would be too wild. We had booked a wine tasting at Castello Bonaria (not as fancy as it sounds, but a lovely place) at 5 p.m., so it required a quick shower and a change of clothes.
We had the opportunity to taste a white wine and three red wines, along with their olive oil, during the wine tasting. They also served some local delicacies. Everything was delicious, and it was a great experience (although more enjoyable for the adults, as expected). We particularly liked the olive oil and the white wine, so we bought a couple of bottles to take home. If they survive the journey, they will be the most well-traveled bottles in the world!
From the winery, we could see a small mountain village called Campiglia Marittima, and Sara decided that we should drive up there and look for a restaurant. It turned out well, and we were incredibly lucky to find a parking spot just before the car-free zone started. It was a bit late to fully explore the narrow streets, but we got a really good impression of the town and enjoyed a delicious meal (again) in the charming little square. It's definitely a place worth visiting if you happen to be in the area.
