Mortelliccio - exploring the besches

(English version below)

Georg nåede ferierekorden med 4 is for dagen, mens Naja klarede 3...

We started the day with no major plans and ended up driving towards a beach on the other side of Piombino, which was supposed to be flatter and more child-friendly. We arrived around noon and thought, "Yes, this looks good." However, it quickly turned out that the many empty sun loungers couldn't be rented because they had already been sold for the season to local Italians. It was a silly concept with empty chairs that couldn't be used, but that's how the system works. Instead, we took a small table at the beach bar, where we had all our belongings, and the rest of the afternoon involved fluid transitions between the bar and the water. In the absence of better options, it actually worked quite well, and we were probably the day's best customers! Georg set a record for the holiday with 4 ice creams for the day, while Naja managed 3...

The water was beautifully clear with the finest sandy bottom, but it was quite windy, making the waves more reminiscent of the North Sea. However, due to the shallow water, it was a perfect combination for safely playing in the waves, even without a life vest. In addition to water fun, we also built a large sandcastle with bridges and breakwaters. We might have hidden a couple of small building engineers because they knew exactly what they were doing.

On our way back, we tried a restaurant not far from the campsite, further inland. After another enjoyable dining experience, we returned and went to bed relatively early. You can get pleasantly tired from being in the sea air and water for more than 6 hours, even though we're getting used to it.
