(English version below)
The last day in Austria, and we had no plans for car trips. As it turned out, that was quite fortunate because there was a motorcycle parade around the lake we're staying near, and the roads were closed from 12 to 3! So, we spent the morning doing some homework and packing up our things. While we were having sandwiches (yes, we managed to find a pack of rye bread!), we suddenly heard a lot of noise. First, it was police sirens, and then it was the roar of thousands of motorcycles! I don't know exactly how many passed by, but it was enough to create a continuous stream for several hours!
It was quite an experience, and I think the adults could have watched the motorcycles and fun costumes for hours. However, the kids didn't last quite as long. Naja managed to snag about 20 high-fives or something along those lines and beamed like she had touched a superstar! They kind of acted like little celebrities themselves, and they seemed to be having a blast in the beautiful weather.
Once we had enough of the noise, we headed down to the water for one last swim. The water is still a bit on the chilly side, so we didn't stay in for too long. However, the paddleboard can be used like a makeshift canoe, so we paddled quite a way out into the lake to reach a raft. Of course, we had to jump in the water before paddling back.
The late afternoon was spent packing up and tidying things, and then we went out to grab a bite to eat. We all agree that this place in Austria with those all-inclusive cards for various activities has been a winner and is a place we wouldn't mind returning to. Tomorrow, we're embarking on the longest stretch of our trip, and if all goes according to plan, we should arrive on the outskirts of Berlin tomorrow evening.
