No weather disasters to report! Only a limited amount of rain where we were, and the thunderstorm was something we could only hear and see from a distance. But it was gray, windy, and drizzling for most of the day, so an indoor activity was in order. We had chosen Pula Aquarium, and we weren't the only ones!
The aquarium was housed in an old fortress/bunker, which made for some unique architecture to explore. It might not have been the most spectacular aquarium we've seen, but it still had some interesting things to look at. Jellyfish, large crabs, peculiar worm-like creatures resembling grass, and sea turtles were the highlights for us. We also stood in line to watch the sharks being fed, but they seemed quite disinterested in the fish pieces that were thrown to them (a bit disappointing). Additionally, there were numerous models of old warships, along with artifacts salvaged from various wrecks. Georg found this particularly exciting, while Naja enjoyed their small butterfly section.
There were truly a lot of people, so we "escaped" when our stomachs called for food and found a café nearby. However, it was also crowded, making for a somewhat limited experience both in terms of food and service! The evening was spent relaxing at the campsite, and we're getting better at playing the card game "500." We're becoming quite skilled at it :-)
