Stor begejstring for bilens besætning, men mindre begejstret hos bilens ejer (i må selv gætte hvem :-).
As forecasted, it was raining when we finished packing and drove to the zoo, but it had stopped by the time we arrived. First, there was a large area with various animals where we drove through in our car. We had been given carrots to feed reindeer, donkeys, and mountain goats. The car's occupants were thrilled, but the car's owner (you can guess who) was less excited.
Then, there was a long stretch with many lions, tigers, elephants, rhinos, ostriches, buffaloes, and more. So many animals, and they seemed to be doing well. Next, there was a new small area where you could feed giraffes, among others. It was a bit gross but also quite amusing when the first giraffe tried to give Georg a kiss through the car window to get a carrot!
After that, we parked the car and walked into the other part of the park, where there were more animals (bears, leopards, panthers, monkeys, a gorilla, various insects, including some impressive cobras), as well as rides and restaurants. We saw almost all the animals included in our tickets (there was an option to add a sea lion show, but we chose not to). Our favorites in this area were the snakes, monkeys, turtles, and brown bears. The gorilla was also magnificent, but it looked like it was missing some company.
We ended the day with a few rides on the radio-controlled cars, a tower ride, and a water slide, leaving everyone with wet pants :-). It was truly a great day and a nice zoo.
Now, we've returned to the campsite to pick up the caravan from the parking lot, and then we're heading to the ferry terminal in Bari. There are some delays expected, so we're not sure what awaits us. We'll see - we'll write again when we arrive in Montenegro.
